Two main bodies have been tasked by Government to prepare the Regional Strategy on behalf of the East Midlands. These are the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and the East Midlands Leaders’ Board (EMLB). Together, they are jointly responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the delivery of the Regional Strategy.
emda and the EMLB will be supported and advised by the Joint Strategy Advisory Board (JSAB), made up of three emda Board Members and three EMLB Members.
Engaging stakeholders is integral to the Regional Strategy (RS). To make sure this happens, JSAB will be supported by the Sustainable Development Advisory Group (SusDAG) and the Stakeholder Advisory Group (StAG). These Groups will provide specialist technical input and effective stakeholder participation.
We also need to mobilise policy expertise and the investments of a wide range of partners (public, private and third sector). This will be done through four Thematic Working Groups that each have a specific task as outlined in their Terms of Reference.
The diagram below illustrates the structures to deliver the Regional Strategy, and how they link together.
